Weltanschauung—a mutual background. Or, in other words: Judaism and Christianity are not mother and daughter, but they are in reality sisters, because the mother of both is ancient Judaism. Even those among both Jews and Christians, who will be reluctant to adopt this definition, will be prone to recognize that the overwhelming number of motifs which are present in the Christianity of the New Testament have their Jewish predecessors. Ancient Christianity is constructed primarily upon Jewish premises.
